Technical information & FAQs
Camozzi Series 25 ISO 6432 Pneumatic Cylinders
Camozzi Series 25 pneumatic cylinders are ISO 6432 mini cylinders designed for applications where compact dimensions are required together with adjustable pneumatic end cushioning. The cushioning can be tuned to suit the moving load and operating speed, making Series 25 especially useful on repetitive machinery where impact at the end of stroke needs to be controlled.
The range is magnetic for position sensing and uses a stainless-steel barrel and piston rod with anodised aluminium end blocks. Double-acting and through-rod configurations are available across 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm bore sizes.

Adjustable Cushioning for Better End-of-Stroke Control
The main reason to choose a Series 25 pneumatic cylinder is its adjustable pneumatic cushioning. Unlike a fixed mechanical bumper, the cushioning can be tuned to slow the piston progressively as it approaches the end of its travel.
This gives machinery builders and maintenance engineers more control where load, speed or cycle conditions make hard end impacts undesirable. Correct adjustment can help reduce shock, vibration and mechanical stress on both the pneumatic cylinder and the mechanism it operates.
Series 25 Stroke Capability
| Bore | Stroke Range |
|---|---|
| 16 mm | 10 to 600 mm |
| 20 mm | 10 to 1000 mm |
| 25 mm | 10 to 1000 mm |
| 32 mm | 10 to 1000 mm |
Magnetic Pneumatic Cylinders for Automated Machinery
Series 25 pneumatic cylinders include a magnetic piston so position can be detected using compatible proximity switches. This allows the cylinder to provide end-position feedback to machine controls without mechanical limit switches contacting the moving assembly.
The combination of magnetic sensing and adjustable cushioning makes Series 25 particularly suitable for automated machinery where both motion control and piston-position confirmation are required.
Through-Rod Series 25 Pneumatic Cylinders
Double-acting through-rod Series 25 configurations are available where the piston rod must extend from both ends of the pneumatic cylinder. This arrangement can be useful for applications requiring access to both sides of the rod or more symmetrical mechanical loading.
Through-rod pneumatic cylinders should be selected as their own configuration rather than substituted with a standard single-rod Series 25 purely on bore and stroke.
High-Temperature Series 25 Options
Selected 16, 20 and 25 mm Series 25 pneumatic cylinders are available with FKM seals for operating temperatures up to 130°C. These versions are intended for applications where normal pneumatic-cylinder seal materials would be unsuitable because of elevated ambient or process temperatures.
The correct seal option should therefore be confirmed when replacing a Series 25 pneumatic cylinder operating near heat-generating equipment or within a high-temperature process environment.
Series 25 or Series 24?
Both ranges use the ISO 6432 format and magnetic sensing, but they serve different motion requirements. Series 24 uses fixed mechanical bumper cushioning, while Series 25 uses adjustable pneumatic cushioning.
Choose Series 25 where piston deceleration needs to be tuned to the application. Series 24 is generally the simpler option where fixed mechanical cushioning is sufficient.
Series 25 or Series 23?
Series 23 uses Camozzi's automatic pneumatic cushioning system, while Series 25 gives the user manual control over the cushioning adjustment.
Series 23 can be advantageous where operating conditions change and automatic compensation is desirable. Series 25 is attractive where the machine builder or maintenance engineer wants to set the end-of-stroke behaviour manually for a known application.
Camozzi Series 25 FAQs
What makes Camozzi Series 25 different?
Series 25 combines ISO 6432 mini-cylinder dimensions with magnetic position sensing and manually adjustable pneumatic cushioning.
What bore sizes are available?
Camozzi Series 25 pneumatic cylinders are available in 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm bore sizes.
Are Series 25 pneumatic cylinders magnetic?
Yes. A magnetic piston allows compatible proximity sensors to detect piston position.
Can the cushioning be adjusted?
Yes. Adjustable pneumatic cushioning is a defining feature of Series 25 and allows end-of-stroke deceleration to be tuned to the application.
Are through-rod versions available?
Yes. Camozzi offers double-acting through-rod Series 25 pneumatic cylinders.
Can Series 25 operate at high temperatures?
Selected 16, 20 and 25 mm versions are available with FKM seals for temperatures up to 130°C.
When should I choose Series 25 instead of Series 24?
Choose Series 25 when adjustable pneumatic cushioning is required. Series 24 uses fixed mechanical bumper cushioning and is better suited where adjustable end-of-stroke control is unnecessary.
Can I order Camozzi Series 25 pneumatic cylinders from Cylinder Warehouse?
Yes. Cylinder Warehouse supplies genuine Camozzi Series 25 pneumatic cylinders for machinery manufacture, planned maintenance and direct replacement requirements.
