ISO 21287 Pneumatic Cylinders for Compact Machinery

Series 32 is built around ISO 21287 dimensions, making it particularly suitable where a standardised compact pneumatic cylinder is required without giving up valuable machine space. Camozzi also specifies compatibility with mounting accessories used with ISO 15552 pneumatic cylinders, expanding the mounting possibilities available to machine builders and replacement applications.

This combination of compact body length and recognised dimensional standard makes Series 32 especially useful when designing new automation or replacing a compact pneumatic cylinder where installation envelope and mounting geometry matter as much as force and stroke.

Auto-Cushioned Series 32 Pneumatic Cylinders

Auto-cushioned versions provide a major Series 32 option for applications where piston deceleration needs to be controlled without relying on a conventional manually adjusted cushioning arrangement.

This can simplify commissioning while helping reduce impact as the piston approaches the end of travel, particularly on repetitive machinery where cycle consistency is important.

Non-Rotating Series 32 Pneumatic Cylinders

Series 32 non-rotating pneumatic cylinders are intended for applications where attached tooling or mechanisms must maintain their angular orientation during linear travel.

This is particularly useful for positioning, clamping and handling tasks where uncontrolled piston-rod rotation could affect alignment or repeatability.

Series 32 Tandem Pneumatic Cylinders

Camozzi also offers tandem Series 32 pneumatic cylinders in selected bore sizes. The tandem arrangement can provide up to approximately twice the thrust of a conventional pneumatic cylinder of the same bore while maintaining the compact Series 32 concept.

This provides an alternative where greater output force is required but increasing pneumatic cylinder diameter would create installation problems.

Series 32 Multi-Position Pneumatic Cylinders

Multi-position Series 32 pneumatic cylinders can provide up to three fixed positions from a single compact actuator assembly. This makes them useful for machine functions requiring more than conventional fully extended and fully retracted positions.

Camozzi offers tandem and multi-position Series 32 versions in selected 25, 40, 63 and 100 mm bore sizes.

Choosing the Correct Series 32 Pneumatic Cylinder

The key purchasing decision is not simply choosing a compact body. Series 32 includes different operating and mechanical configurations, so the application should determine whether a standard, non-rotating, auto-cushioned, tandem or multi-position pneumatic cylinder is required.

High-temperature versions also use different sealing materials and should be selected specifically for elevated-temperature duties rather than treated as a standard Series 32 replacement.
