Technical information & FAQs
Camozzi Series 94 Stainless Steel Mini Pneumatic Cylinders
Camozzi Series 94 pneumatic cylinders bring AISI 316 stainless-steel construction into a compact ISO 6432 format. Designed for machinery where both limited installation space and high corrosion resistance matter, the range is available in 16, 20 and 25 mm bores for demanding industrial, marine and food-processing applications.
The end caps, cylinder tube and piston rod are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel, creating a mini pneumatic cylinder suited to environments where moisture, aggressive surroundings or frequent cleaning make a conventional aluminium actuator less desirable. Series 94 is magnetic for position sensing and is available in single-acting, double-acting and through-rod configurations.

Small Pneumatic Cylinders for Corrosive Environments
Series 94 solves a different problem from a conventional ISO 6432 pneumatic cylinder. Its attraction is not simply compact size; it is the ability to combine that small mounting envelope with extensive AISI 316 stainless-steel construction.
That makes the range particularly relevant when a small actuator sits close to moisture, cleaning processes, marine atmospheres or other conditions capable of attacking standard cylinder materials.
16, 20 and 25 mm AISI 316 Pneumatic Cylinders
| Bore | Pneumatic Connection | Piston Rod Thread |
|---|---|---|
| 16 mm | M5 | M6 |
| 20 mm | G1/8 | M8 |
| 25 mm | G1/8 | M10 × 1.25 |
The 16 mm version provides a particularly compact stainless-steel pneumatic cylinder for small machine functions, while the 20 and 25 mm models provide greater output force without leaving the ISO 6432 mini-cylinder format.
Clean Construction with Replaceable Seals
Camozzi describes Series 94 and 95 as having a clean design, while their construction allows the seals to be replaced. That is valuable in machinery exposed to demanding conditions because wear components can be serviced rather than automatically treating the complete pneumatic cylinder as disposable.
The use of NSF H1-certified lubricant within the Series 94 construction is another relevant characteristic for applications around food-processing equipment, although the suitability of the complete installation should always be assessed against the hygiene requirements of the actual machine.
Standard NBR or High-Temperature FKM
Standard Series 94 pneumatic cylinders use NBR seals. Camozzi also provides an all-FKM stainless-steel configuration for operating temperatures up to 150°C, giving buyers an option where both corrosion resistance and elevated temperature capability are required.
There is also an FKM piston-rod seal option within the Series 94 coding system. The exact seal configuration should therefore be identified when replacing an existing pneumatic cylinder rather than assuming every stainless-steel Series 94 has the same temperature rating.
Keeping the Mounting Hardware Corrosion Resistant
Camozzi provides dedicated stainless-steel mounting accessories for Series 94, including foot mounts, flange brackets, rear trunnion brackets, rod forks, swivel ball joints and stainless-steel piston-rod and nose nuts.
This allows the material specification to be carried through the mechanical installation rather than fitting an AISI 316 pneumatic cylinder with mounting components that may be less suitable for the surrounding environment.
Series 94 or Series 95?
Series 94 offers 16, 20 and 25 mm bore sizes and uses mechanical end cushioning. Series 95 is a related stainless-steel ISO 6432 range concentrated on 25 mm bore and adds adjustable pneumatic end-of-stroke cushioning.
For a small corrosion-resistant pneumatic cylinder where adjustable deceleration is unnecessary, Series 94 provides the broader choice of bore sizes. Where a 25 mm pneumatic cylinder requires adjustable cushioning, Series 95 becomes the more relevant option.
Questions That Matter When Buying Series 94
I'm replacing an ordinary 20 mm ISO 6432 pneumatic cylinder in a wet area. Why consider Series 94?
Series 94 retains the compact ISO 6432 format but uses AISI 316 stainless steel for the cylinder tube, end caps and piston rod. That material specification can make it considerably better suited to corrosive or moisture-exposed machinery than a conventional aluminium or mixed-material mini pneumatic cylinder.
Do I need Series 94 or Series 90 for a stainless-steel application?
The two ranges address different pneumatic cylinder sizes. Series 94 is the compact ISO 6432 family in 16, 20 and 25 mm bores, whereas Series 90 covers substantially larger ISO 15552 pneumatic cylinders from 32 to 125 mm bore.
Will the 150°C version be identified in the Camozzi code?
Yes. Camozzi uses a dedicated material designation for the AISI 316 stainless-steel configuration with all FKM seals. When replacing a high-temperature Series 94 pneumatic cylinder, the complete order code should therefore be preserved rather than substituting a standard NBR version.
Can a Series 94 pneumatic cylinder be rebuilt rather than replaced?
Camozzi states that the construction of Series 94 allows the seals to be replaced. Whether servicing or replacing the complete pneumatic cylinder is preferable will depend on its condition, downtime requirements and the specific application.
I need adjustable end cushioning in 25 mm bore. Should I use Series 94?
If adjustable pneumatic end cushioning is a requirement, Series 95 should be considered because that related 25 mm stainless-steel pneumatic cylinder range is designed with adjustable cushioning. Series 94 uses mechanical cushioning.
