Collection: Double Acting Pneumatic Cylinders

Double acting pneumatic cylinders use compressed air to power both extension and retraction. This provides controlled movement in both directions and allows useful force to be produced on both the outward and return strokes.

They are widely used across industrial automation, packaging machinery, production equipment, conveyors, fixtures, jigs and handling systems. Common duties include pushing, pulling, lifting, pressing, clamping, stopping and positioning.

Check the bore, stroke, operating pressure, available force, cushioning, mounting arrangement, piston rod specification and port size. Retraction force is normally lower than extension force because the piston rod reduces the effective piston area on one side.
